Chapter 9 - Question

--Chapter 8--                                                Home                                --Chapter 10--

My cell phone woke me up at 8 with a text.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NESSIE!
HAVE A GR8 DAY! LUV EMILY, SAM, LEILA, MOLLY AND JESSE XXX

I smiled, sat up and stretched, then got out of bed to take a shower. Walking into the bathroom, I began to feel a little nausea, but thought over it and stepped into the shower.
As I got out of the shower, I had to run to the toilet and vomited. Mom appeared behind me and held my hair back. I stood up and began crying and mom wrapped her arms around me and buried her head in my curls.
“You’re dad is getting you some medicine, how are you feeling?” She asked, clearly worried. I told her I felt fine, just a little shaky. “In the meantime, your whole family is waiting in the living room, surrounded by hundreds of birthday gifts waiting to be opened! You should get dressed and come out sweetie;” She smiled “After that Grandpa Carlisle wanted to speak to you about something,” then she stroked my head and walked out.

Getting dressed, my sickness wouldn’t go away, I still felt the need to be sick, but I ignored it and held it in, it was my birthday, I needed to be happy.

Mom didn’t lie; my whole family were there, including Grandpa Charlie, Grandma Renée and Phil, Jacob, Sam and Emily, Quil, Embry and Seth. She didn’t lie about the presents either; there were 6 piles almost reaching the ceiling and some smaller ones surrounding them. Seeing my family and friends made me smile, my cheeks blushed and I forgot about the nausea. I saw Jacob sitting on the floor; a huge smile spread across his face, and went to sit on his knee.
“Happy birthday beautiful,” he whispered into my ear and I turned around to kiss him.
“It’s present time!” Aunt Alice laughed and handed me a huge gift bag.

Renesmee,
Happy 20th birthday!
Lots of love,
Aunt Alice and Uncle Jazz xxx

The note read. I opened the gifts from the bag, which were mainly clothes, make up and jewellery, but they’d also given me airline tickets for Jacob and I to go to London, I’d always wanted to go.
Grandpa Carlisle and Grandma Esme had given me airline tickets for Morocco, books, clothes and a very expensive looking jewelery box.
Aunt Rosalie and Uncle Emmett gave me clothes and make up, perfume, music and a new CD player.
Grandpa Charlie gave me a pink camera and a beautiful necklace and Grandma Renée and Phil bought me clothes, a journal, a box of chocolates, a silver photo frame and DVD s.
Seth gave me a CD and a pair of earrings.

Mom and Dad had gone overboard, more so than Alice. They had got me an ultra expensive dress, a pair of equally expensive looking shoes, a beautiful customized white convertible Volvo™, a pair of diamond earrings, a diamond bracelet, my baby photo album, airline tickets to a 5 Star Hotel in Paris and a new cell phone.
Jacob lifted me from his lap and carefully stood me up in front of me. He looked at my dad for a few seconds, and then smiled. He grabbed both of my hands and looked into my eyes.

“When I first saw you, no words could explain just how I felt. You were a tiny baby, only a few hours old, but I hated you, you were the one who I thought had killed the woman I loved; your mother. But when your beautiful eyes met mine for the first time, gravity let go of me, it no longer held me down. I was floating, as if you were an angel, holding me. I knew that you were my soul mate, the girl whose big brother I would be, until you were old enough to love me. I want to tie myself to you, I want to be there every moment, I want to be able to love you forever Nessie.” I felt my heart skip a beat when he got down on one knee and held out a ring with a sliver band and a huge diamond. “Renesmee Carlie Cullen, will you marry me?” Tears were rolling down our faces, and between them, I managed to splutter,
“Yes Jacob!” He lifted me up and twirled me around then set me down on the floor gently then we kissed, our first kiss as an engaged couple. It was then that I noticed the whole room was sobbing. Mom ran over and hugged me, then went back over to the couch to cuddle with dad.

This was the best birthday I’d had yet by a long shot.
