RELAXATION is the route to thought. That phrase was the perfect way to describe what I was doing. Laying in a bubble bath in a room full of lit candles, I thought. I replayed to exact words Jacob had said to me over and over in my head, and about what Grandpa Carlisle had told me. I thought about the future, our future together. I’d always known we’d be together forever, but Jacob’s proposal confirmed it. I stared at the diamond placed on my ring finger in astonishment, how Jacob could have afforded this, I didn’t know, maybe mom and dad helped him.
I’d already agreed with Aunt Alice that she would plan my whole wedding, as long as I chose my dress. I’d chosen my bridesmaids too; Aunt Alice, Aunt Rosalie, Leilah, Molly, Jacob’s older sisters Rachel and Rebecca and maybe another, I wasn’t sure if the last one would be final. The day had been a blur, although it was only 3pm. I was getting ready for my dinner with my new fiancé Jacob; beginning with a soak in the bath.

When I decided to get out the bath, mom, aunt Rosalie and aunt Alice made a huge fuss over what I was wearing, how my hair was going to be, my make up colors and my jewelery, they dressed me themselves. If this is what they were like for a dinner date, what would they be like for my wedding? When they finally finished, they took me to the floor length mirror, where I stood wearing the white knee high dress lined with gold I got from mom and dad and the earrings from Seth. My hair was in a loose pony tail with a few strands down and sprayed with glitter hair spray. My make up was neutral colors and glitter. I looked amazing, but my eyes were fixed on the ring on my left hand. I felt the tears run down my face when I thought about the news Carlisle had given me, they were tears of joy and I smiled to myself in the mirror. Mom came and hugged me.
“I love you so much, my baby.” She smiled and kissed my cheek. I made sure not to touch her face; I didn’t want her to know my news until it had sunk in properly. “Jake’s here, have a lovely night,”
I kissed everybody goodbye, and met Jacob outside the house. He was holding a bouquet of red roses. I ran over and kissed him. Mom came and took the flowers inside. Jacob lifted me up by my waist and spun me around. We walked over to his car, and we drove off to Port Angeles.

This really was the best birthday I’d ever had.
